How to repair broken download link in Internet Download Manager


Internet Download Manager is one of the most popular download managers out there. It helps you to download files faster and save bandwidth. However, sometimes it can break down due to various reasons including hardware failures or bugs in the program itself. In this article we will show you how to repair broken download link in Internet Download Manager so that it can work again:

First, click Edit -> Preferences, then click General on the left side.

  • Click Temporary Directory and choose a new location for temporary files.
  • Delete all downloaded files from your computer’s hard drive (or any other storage medium). This will ensure that no one can download your program again if it were corrupted in some way.
  • Restart IDM when prompted

  • Restart Internet Download Manager and try to download the file again.

To restart IDM, click on “Restart” in the top menu bar. This will bring up a dialog box that allows you to choose whether or not to restart IDM.

If you are unable to download the file after trying all of the above troubleshooting steps, then there may be something wrong with your computer or an issue with the website from which you were trying to download it. If this is the case and replacing your current Download Manager doesn’t solve anything, try using another browser instead (Chrome/Firefox/Safari).

If none of these solutions work for you—and especially if none of them ever worked—it may be time for a new Download Manager altogether!
